Programs and Courses of the Allan Blakeney Adult Campus

 The 2018/2019 school year at the Allan Blakeney Adult Campus runs on a quarter system.

 The Registration and Authorization for Guidance Counsellors forms are at the bottom of this page. 

 

 Please complete ALL forms below for registration.

 

 

 

Quarter Dates 2018/19

Quarter 1 - September 10 to November 9, 2018

Quarter 2 - November 14, 2018 to January 25, 2019

Quarter 3 - January 30 to April 5, 2019

Quarter 4 - April 9 to June 19, 2019

 

*Note - You are able to take a maximum of 2 classes per quarter.

 

Class Times

Morning class:  9:30 a.m. to 11:50 a.m.

Lunch:  11:50 a.m. to 12:50 p.m.

Afternoon class:  12:50 p.m. to 3:10 p.m.

 

No Classes on the following days (2018/19):

October 5 - Teachers' Convention

October 8- Thanksgiving Day

October 26 - Staff meeting/PD Day

November 12 - Remembrance Day

November 13 - Turnaround Day

December 7 - Staff meeting/PD Day

December 24 - January 4 - Christmas break

January 28 & 29 - Turnaround Day

February 18-22 - Winter break

March 22 - Staff meeting/PD Day

April 8 - Turnaround Day

April 19 - Good Friday

April 22-26 - Easter Break

May 17 - Staff meeting/PD Day

May 20 - Victoria Day

 

 

Adult 12: a Grade 12 program that requires the completion of seven credits, a minimum of five to be at the 30 level:

  • English A30 and
  • English B30;
  • one Canadian Studies:

- History 30: Canadian Studies, or

- Native Studies 30: Canadian Studies, or

- Social Studies 30: Canadian Studies;

  • one Mathematics at the 20 or 30 level
  • one Science at the 20 or 30 level
  • two electives at the 30 level (one may be a Prior Learning credit)

 

 

Upgrading: for students who have already completed Grade 12 but need to upgrade specific classes for entrance to university or a technical institute.

 

Registering for the Adult Campus DAY PROGRAM

The Adult Campus Day Program is for young adults ages 18-21, with the following restrictions:

 

1. Ages 18-21 -(17 year olds will not be accepted)

 

2. Persons age 18-21 who have completed Grade 12 and want to upgrade their mark(s).

 

3. Students from out of province must provide their transcript before the start of the school year.  (This does not apply to those students who have their Grade 12 and are upgrading only.)

4. English as an additional language programming, after assessment at the Newcomer Welcome Centre.

5.  If you are not born in Canada, please provide proof of Canadian Citizenship at the time of registration.
